UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE HOSPITAL BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION UNIT

Louisville, Kentucky

This project provides a fully renovated and enlarged space for the University of Louisville Hospital’s Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit. Going beyond providing a great healing environment, much of the design focuses on taking proactive steps towards improving infection control, such as being the first unit in the Kentuckian region to install antimicrobial copper fixtures. By incorporating such technologies, the hospital is able to provide added protective measures for their patients with compromised immune systems.

The 10,000 +/-SF unit includes (16) patient rooms, exercise space, a family room and open nurse desk area for improved site lines.
