Mark Trier, AIA, LEED AP, is Past President of JRA Architects. As a former principal and major stockholder for 25 years, he has planned and designed over one billion dollars of new and renovated construction with a focus on healthcare, religious, civic, and educational projects. During the span of his 43-year career, he has developed innovative daylighting strategies within a broad range of facilities, while his more recent focus has been on creating and implementing sustainable design initiatives for his clients. As a leader in this field, he has served as a featured panel member on National Public Radio and other media platforms discussing trends and developments in LEED and sustainable design.

Mr. Trier currently leads various initiatives at JRA, such as creating long-range master plans and developing building programs that serve as foundational pillars to architectural projects. In addition, he lectures and publishes papers on energy-saving daylighting techniques and actively volunteers at numerous civic organizations.

Over his distinguished career he has received the AIA Henry Adams Award for Excellence, won a Northern Indiana AIA Excellence in Design award, and been featured in the Roma Cartre Tre exhibit in 1976.
