The Proof Is In The Pudding

Jim Beam Distillery

Jim Beam Distillery

Established in 1795, Jim Beam is one of today’s most well-known and best-selling bourbon brands worldwide. Attracting tourists and visitors to learn more about the bourbon-making process and to convert them into brand ambassadors is a critical marketing component for distilleries. When the iconic brand recognized a need for several facility improvements to their distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, JRA Architects was proud to partner with the company to create a more visitor-friendly environment through a “design-build” delivery method.

JRA designed and created new features to the Jim Beam facilities to afford a better production tour and experience. We integrated a new addition, attached to the main fermenting building, as the starting point of the tour. Inside the addition, visitors are exposed to an immersive and experiential understanding of the distilling processes where bourbon converts from water to distilled spirit. The tour route then leads visitors to new small-batch, barrel-filling operation and then provides visitors with a single-barrel bourbon packaging experience along with observations of the larger bottling operation.

Bringing smiles to the faces of bourbon enthusiasts and first-time bourbon drinkers alike is what we set out to achieve through our work, and given the warm reception the facilities have received, we’ll raise a toast to that!
