Hardin County Schools Turf Fields

Hardin County Schools recently started a project to improve three high school football fields’ athletic fields. The first round included new artificial turf fields at North Hardin High School and John Hardin High School. The North Hardin High School field features a mini-football field behind one endzone. This serves as a practice area, but on Friday nights, young kids watching the game can play on it and dream of playing for the Spartans.

The work at John Hardin High School also included several other site improvements, including new concrete stands and a retaining wall to improve the hillside behind the South end zone and a new access drive to allow the emergency vehicles, the band, and anyone else to access the field at grade level.

The new turf field is an all-weather system allowing the Hardin County High Schools to use the fields for various sports teams of all ages, regardless of the weather, practice, and game schedules. The colors and mid-field logos were chosen to reinforce each school’s spirit.

The second round will be the turf field at Central Hardin High School, which will be done in the summer of 2024.
