University of Louisville Delphi Center
The Delphi Center, the University of Louisville’s innovative academic resource and online teaching team, consolidated several affiliated teams into what is called the Teaching Innovation Learning Lab (TILL). JRA Architects worked with the University to create this inventive space as the new testing ground for technology integration into academic pedagogy across the University. The goal of the lab is to actively engage with faculty who are seeking insights into new teaching techniques that leverage active technology to enhance student engagement and achievement. The TILL serves as the university’s model classroom for all upcoming learning spaces and will continue to be used to beta test technology and train faculty.
The suite’s lobby living room was shaped and outfitted to be a progressive yet comfortable gathering place for educators to interact with peers. The adjacent conference and collaboration rooms offer meeting space for various group sizes, while furniture and finishes literally spill out of the suite into the surrounding study space to offer further experiential variety to it users.
The Teaching Innovation Learning Lab is the latest step in the Delphi Center’s approach to fostering student learning and superior teaching techniques at the University of Louisville. The engaging spaces we have designed help to keep faculty and students engaged in new learning and instruction techniques that will serve them well in their educational careers and beyond.
